May Challenge #1 - With Grey

I can't believe we are already into the 5th month, this year is flying by! Gypsy here, it's my turn to set the challenge for the start of the month and I'm going for grey!

********

I think grey is a colour/neutral that's often overlooked- I know it's not one that I naturally reach for- but it's great to use as it doesn't have the intensity and weight of black and it doesn't have the bright, starkness of white or cream. It can evoke feelings of softness, some tones are calming, and it can also be quite moody and brooding. It can also be handy to dull down some garish colours in your photos as well- or intensify them and make them pop depending on how you use your grey.

Here's my page...

My DT Kit for May is full of the rich pinks, blues and buttery hues of the October Afternoon Farm House Line. October Afternoon are the last of my top 3 manufacturers still in existence- I'm even more excited than usual to be working with this months kit.

So here's what I used for my page: The cardstock is Core'dinations Stormy Grey, October Afternoon Farmhouse: Papers: Clothes Line, Gravel RoadHer Bureau, Phonograph, and the Label Stickers, Flower Sack, shape stickers, and Flags. I've also used the Jillibean Soup Staples Grey salt, Carta Bella Rustic Elegance Chevron. The Alpha's are: Lovely in Straw,  Sweet comes from the Fancy Pants Happy Place Puffy word stickers, the two comes from the CB RE- Sticker sheet, and the fibre are the Timeless Touches Basic fibres Grey.

Gray looks great with a variety of colours and I've put together a pinterest board with some delicious colour schemes based on or including grey to inspire you!

Did you know... Gray and grey are different spellings of the same word, and both are used throughout the English-speaking world. But gray is more common in American English, while grey is more common in all the other main varieties of English. In the U.K., for instance, grey appears about twenty times for every instance of gray. In the U.S. the ratio is reversed.

  1. I agree. Grey is a terrific neutral. I like it's softness. I have quite a bit of grey in my wardrobe now as well.
