Here's another fantastic page from our September Cybercrop. Justjane was inspired to scraplift Fancy Pants Design team member Diana Brodeur. I love all the horizontal lines on this page and the little details. Jane has created perfect homes for all the elements on her page and then added some details with all her little circle elements to break up the straight lines- this is a great technique to add interest and also some fun. I really love this choice of colours as well- it's a nice subtle pallet which works really well with her photo. I definitely think is a page I'd like to scraplift! Thanks for sharing the inspiration Jane!

October Cyber Crop ~ Journalling

Hello all,

Welcome to the October CyberCrop.

We're all about Journalling again this month and we have 8 ideas for you to choose from.

So the way this CC works is;
  • You get 1 ticket into the draw per challenge ...up to the maxium of 3. You are welcome to do as many as you like, but maxium tickets given is 3
  • Upload your challenge pages to our gallery, there is only 1 gallery this month, so and make sure you let us know what number challenge idea you have used.
You'll find below a list of 8 ideas for different ways to journal on your LO's with some examples of some from the DT.   You needed follow the ideas exactlly, your welcome to add your own spin, as long as we can 'see' the orginal idea.

1. Long title - Make you journalling and title in one by creating a long title that tells the story. The title of my LO below is a quote from Will age 3- something that he said often to Kieran- which always made us laugh because we didn't know where he got the idea from!

2. Story - Write your journalling as a story- you could even start it with Once upon a time....

3. Time-line - Use a time-line to tell your story- maybe pictures of a child at different ages, jobs you've had, cars you've owned, major life events, or placed you've lived?

4. Numbers about you - this is another list. But this one should be numbered and it should relate to you- 10 things I love about.... 15 life lessons I've learned... 20 things I want to do before I die... 12 books I'll always own... 10 things I'm thankful for.... 42 things about me at 42....  you can pick the number and the subject - but it has to be about you!

5. Significant other's words - Has your partner, child or another person close to you written or said something you'd like to get on a page? Or perhaps you can ask them too? Maybe even a He says/she says?

6. Repeat a phrase - Use the same starter for each sentence or section of your journalling:
For example; 'I love you because....'  'Today you...' 'Currently I....' 'When you were little...' 'I wish...' 'I remember...' This prompt has more impact when you have at least 8 - 12 lines of journalling starting in the same way.

7. Social Media Stories -  Use some text from your social media- a Facebook status- maybe with comments, or your tweets, or instagram text. Or use a Meme that sums up some aspect of yours or someone else's life.

8. 5W's - Use the 5W's (who, what, where, when, why) to tell the story- make the words (who, what, where, when, why) as an integral part of your layout design.

**********

You have a week plus to upload your creations into the gallery- there is only one for this CC.

Due date Sunday, 6th November - Midnight

**All layouts entered must be created for this CC.

We will be giving away 1 shopping voucher valued at $20.00, and each entry receives 1 ticket into the draw.....each challenge you do gives you a chance to win!
We will also have a surprise prize!!  Our DT members will chose their favourite over-all layout and I will send that lucky person a surprise in the mail.

Happy Scrapping.

Deb W made this lovely, lovely page for our scraplift challenge in the September Cybercrop. She was inspired by a page by Australian Scrapper Karen Shady. I love the pops of red and the way she's framed her photo. The ink work on the background is a lovely effect and all the textures on this page make me want to touch it. I love the way it feels beachy without being 'themey' too. Nothing wrong with themey but this subtlety is really beautiful. Thanks for sharing this page in our gallery Deb.

Jazikt shared both of these LO's in the mystical Gallery in August. The one above was for our Pink and Blue Cyber Crop and the second one was for Scraplift Challenge where members were challenged to scraplift a layout of their own. I really love both of these layout in their own right. But what I think is super cool is that they show just how well scraplifting works for taking an idea or design that has worked and reusing it to create another LO- which works just as well and looks quite different. In both layouts Jazikt has got the same solid design base but has mixed up her embellishments and element placement for a fresh look. I love: the colours she has put together on both LO's, the titles quite different but both cool, the frames, and the embellishments- similar shapes but with very different effects. Thanks so much for sharing both these pages Jazikt.

Mid month challege.. four on one.

Hello! Welcome to the second challenge for October. This month I'm challenging you to use four photos (or more) on a single page. You don't have to use 4x6 photos as I have, any size is fine. But you do have to have at least four photo on a single 12 x 12.

My page above is about the finger prints that used be on my mirror all the time... we don't get that any more... sigh. :-)  I've mixed together the Cocoa Vanilla lives for this page... they all seem to work really well with each other.

Supplies used: Cocoa Vanilla Totally Rad Stellar, Love Always Bouquet and Lovely things. Embellishments Cocoa Vanilla Free Spirit Puffy Stickers, Accessory Stickers.

DT Share: Mother's Day

I really enjoy working with square photos on a square LO! I also will quite often put everything in the middle of the page and work out from there! Today I have gone with a Patterned paper base from the Simple Stories Heart Line and matted all the rest on a square of white Bazzill cardstock which I've inked the edges of to co-ordinate with the yellow flowers in the patterned paper.

Supplies used: Cardstock Bazzil: White, Patterned Papers: Simple Stories Heart: Treasured Memories, Forever in my Heart, Elements 2,  Extras: Simple Stories Heart Cardstock Stickers

DebiJ shared this beautiful trio of cards she made in the Mystical Gallery. September's Cybercrop was all about Flowers and Debi's cards were inspired by the Mood Board Challenge. There's so much to see here! I love the colour ways Deb has chosen for her cards... beautiful pinks and wines, with hints of yellow, apricot, purple and cream, just lovely. The diecut pieces have been used to great effect and Debi's flower arranging is just perfect. Thanks for this sharing this delightful inspiration Debi.

DT Share: Bel and Noah

A stack of photos in a vertical column is a super quick and easy way to get a page done! I like to add my details and embellishments in three spots with one generally much bigger than the other two. Today I have handcut three big banners, that central one would have been a good home for a smaller title. I'm working with the Simple Stories Heart line with is design for memorial type pages but is also very versatile and super lovely.

Supplies used: Cardstock Bazzil: White, Patterned Papers: Simple Stories Heart: Forever in my Heart, I Never Forget, Elements 2, Alpha: Thickers, Extras: Simple Stories Heart Cardstock Stickers, Washi Tape

Checkout DebW's delightful page from our gallery! I love the way she's created homes for all her main pieces with the blocked design... and also ventured outside the box. The differing sized photos are great... and a good idea for baby pages as it's so hard to choose just one photo. The colour scheme is a surprising and lovely pallet and suits the mood perfectly. And great choices for embellishments... breaking out of what would be considered traditional for a boy page... I love rule breakers Deb! Great page, thanks for sharing it!
