August Cyber Crop

"Farewell to Winter" Cyber Crop

There is a touch of Spring in my part of the country ... the days are longer, the nights are warmer, the sunshine is out, the wattle is in full bloom.  It is time to wave goodbye to winter...

This month my challenge is finding inspiration two ways from this wonderful moodboard.

Jane's Challenges

Challenge One  is to find colours in this moodboard and base your layout on them - you must use at least 3 colours from the board (with the addition of black and white).

For my page I focused on the yellow, red and green combination.

Challenge Two  is to find inspiration by way of a theme or product from the moodboard.  You may like to scrap a page about ruging up in winter woolies, or your favourite hot drink or sitting around your log fire, warm and toasty at night or perhaps you are drawn to the use of wood veneer or fabric/thread on your page.

I decided to focus my page on a winter's day at the beach.

Donna's challenge

I have a sketch for you with the requirement that prominent colour must be white!

And here is my take...

I've used Bazzill Cardstock - White  with Fancy Pants What a Wonderful Day papers and embellishments....with a Kaisercraft - Resin Blossoms and some bits from my stash.

You have a full week plus, to scrap these challenges, upload them to our gallery and be in the winning for a store voucher or a pack of lovely goodies for being the DT pick.

Due date Sunday 30th August - Midnight

And don't forget to stop by our Facebook chat group over the weekend - there just may be a game or two happening with the odd prize being thrown your way ;)

Happy scrapping !!

August challenge #2

Time for a second challenge this month.

One of the things I have to remind myself is that it is important that I get my story told as well as telling the stories of my children and our lives together.

This month I am challenging you to tell a story and include a photograph about yourself - it can be from your childhood like my page, or it can be of you as an adult.   It can even be of you with a member of your family BUT it must be about you - a funny story, a childhood memory, an observation, just so long as it is primarily about you.

This is me at about 4 months old.  My Dad took this photo in the backyard of the home we were living in at the time - I know this because I can see his shadow against the backdrop.  My journalling is hidden on the pull out card beneath the photo.

I have used ..

Little Yellow Bicycle - Snugglebug Girl range
White Bazzill cardstock
We R Memory Keepers washi tape
Kaisercraft pearls
Making Memories journaling spots
Ki Memories - Sheer Delights

Challenge Rules:
  • Create a NEW project layout, 3 cards, canvas for this challenge
  • Please upload your entry to our gallery by 11.55pm 31st Aug to be eligible for the prize.
  • Have fun and please share with your scrappy friends

Hope to see your work in our gallery.

Here's my take on this challenge..

I've used the new Kaisercraft Kraft and I am loving it!!  This card handles paint really well, it's a little thicker so I've found it doesn't 'warp' when it gets wet.
For the blue requirement I've used a sheet from  MME Lime Twist- Happy Go Lucky range - Here  And to add texture I've embossed it, then sand it lightly.
I've distress the edges for a touch more texture...

Hope you have fun with this challenge :)
