New Arrivals!

Mystical now has the very cool Zing embossing powders in stock.

Zing isn't ordinary embossing powder - it's the most even, opaque and vivid embossing powder available. It's ama-Zing! Effective for applying color and dimension to any project!

Find the range here: Zing

I'm a big fan of the glitter embossing, I've used it here on these gorgeous 'Messy Hearts' from Words Or Whatever

Fun with Water Cyber Crop

Let's play with some water .....

Challenge 1.

Let's put some water on our projects!

This is a quick and simple technique which I think is really effective.

Grab some paper towel or a face wipe, moisten with water so it is wet but not totally saturated.  Spray your ink directly onto the towel or wipe and then blot this onto your cardstock (white or light kraft works best).

Alternatively you can apply the ink directly to your cardstock and then spray water over the ink and blot with paper towel.  Try both methods and see which look you like best.

Products used:
Basic Grey buttons - no longer available

Challenge 2

Color Challenge, take inspiration from these images and create a layout with all the hue that you can find in water plus 1 pop colour!
You can all touches of black, White or Kraft

Challenge 3

For our 3rd challenge we have a Recipe challenge for you, create a layout with these items that spells out W A T E R:
Washi - Alphas - Tag -  Embossing - Ribbon

You have a full week plus, to scrap these challenges, upload them to our gallery and be in the winning for a store voucher or a pack of lovely goodies for being the DT pick.

And don't forget to stop by our Facebook chat group over the weekend - there just may be a game or two happening with the odd prize being thrown your way ;)

A second November challenge ..

This one is simple ...

Faces, a Flourish and Flowers

and I'd like to see them all represented on your page.

My apologies for the dismal photo quality - it has rained all day here and the light is awful. Hopefully the weather will be better tomorrow and I will be able to replace this.

November Challenge #1

Welcome to November!!

Have you ever done a blind scrap?  I will list the items you need, with a set of instructions,  but no photo!  Blind scrapping,  just means you follow steps to create a layout, you can add your own unique twists at any stage as long as the basic recipe is followed.
After a week I will post my layout in the gallery, so as not to spoil it for those that wish to keep it a 'Blind'  challenge...

PHOTO  -
You need 1 12.5 x 17.5 cm landscrape photo (you can also use 2 smaller photo together if you wish, but the over all size needs to be 12.5 x 17.5 cm in a landscape orientation)

SUPPLIES -
1 Base cardstock
4 sheets of pattern paper - or 2 double sided ones
1 extra piece of coordinating PP at least 15 x12cm
2 different alpha - 1 lager and 1 smaller
3D foam or similar
1 circle punch at least 3cm wide ( or hand cut one)
1 journalling pen
Coordinating ink for the edges of your pp
Distressing tool
DST

EMBELLISHMENTS -
3 stars or hearts (no larger than about 3cm)
2 buttons or flairs
packet of coordinating rhinestones or pearls
Brads or enamal dots (or similar)

STEPS
Distress and ink your cardstock - (refered to as CS in the steps)

Cut your pp into the following sizes
A  25x24 cm
B 20x16cm
C 10 x15cm
D 5.5 x 15cm
Then distress and ink each piece

From the extra piece of  coordinating PP hand rule and cut out 2 arrows,  1 approx 10cm long and 7cm high and another 2.5cm long and 3cm high and 1 heart.....Ink but do not distress arrows.

Place pp A in the middle of the CS
Place pp C hard up against the left hand side of the CS and 13cm down from the top
Place pp D hard up against the left hand side of the CS and 17cm down from the top
Place pp B 9cm down from the top and .5cm from the right hand side of your CS.
Place your photo 10.5cm down from the top of the CS 1.5cm from the right hand side

Place your large alpha title on the top left hand side of pp A  with your smaller sub-title or jorumalling letters

Punch or cut a circle from a scrap piece of pp, cut in half or fold over and place it on the top of pp , 5cm from the right hand side, add a flair or button along side of it. (i added a small word on my circle with a rub-one... you could stamp or hand write on it)

Add the heart, just sitting overlaying left hand edge of your photo slightly, and on the bottom half of it.

Add the large arrow on the bottom left hand side of your photo using 3D form, should be sitting under the heart, mine of overlapping a little.

Add the small arrow on the right hand side along with the 2nd button or flair and add a few rhinestones to make a small grouping

Under the photos and above the arrow, sprinkle with your stars and rhinestones.

Using your ruler and jounalling pen, rule a small boarder around the outside edge of your pp....and anywhere else you would like... On mine I outlined the small arrow and 2 of my stars...

Any questions, message or post on our chat page and I will answer them there :)
