September Cybercrop

Do you remember finding a box of photos at your grandparents or parents home, only to wonder who everyone is or when it the photo was taken?

I do, and I remember asking my Mum about the photos, only to get answers like...
" I think that is uncle ------ "

This month we are thinking about Journalling.  For a lot of us, journalling seems to be one of the most difficult parts of scrapbooking, We spend ages thinking of designs and colour combinations and how to use our many wonderful embellishments, but journalling is one of the most important details often forgotten or crammed in at the end.

We have 3 challenges for you using different types of journalling techniques, let's get back into the habit of adding some extra details on our pages :)

Challenge 1 - Sketch with Journal Tags

For my page I've used Basic Grey Serenade papers, flowers from Green Tara, and my title is from our new range of chipboard from 2Crafty

I've left my journalling tags blank for the bride to write her own journalling.

Challenge 2: Journalling first
For this challenge I want you to write the journalling first- so you can make it a feature of your page rather than an add-on that you slip in there. This is a great chance to tell a longer story (though you don't have to make it as big as mine).

Supplies used: Simple Stories: Heart and Life in Colour, Thickers Foam and Chipboard.

Challenge 3: Document a person
Make a page about a person, rather than an event or location.
This page describes my niece at 2 years old. I talks about what she currently loves, where she spends her days, there are some word to describe her character, and some important facts like that she still has an afternoon nap and enjoys helping with the cooking.

Supplies used: Fancy Pants Happy Place, Simple Stories Life in Colour, Amy Tangerine Foam Thickers, Basic Grey Alpha, Ribbon, Jillibean Word stickers.

Due date Sunday, 30th Sept.  Upload in to the correct photo album by midnight to the in the draw.

You can find our Facebook gallery and our chat page here - Chat

We have a private chat page over on Facebook, if you new to our challenges just send me a email with your name and I can send you an invite to our little group.

We will be giving away 1 shopping voucher valued at $20.00, and each entry receives 1 ticket into the draw.....each challenge you do gives you a chance to win!

We will also have a surprise prize!!  Our DT members will chose their favourite over-all layout and I will send that lucky person a surprise in the mail.
Happy Scrapping.

September Monthly Challenges

Welcome to our Monthly Challenges for September!

The trial of Facebook albums for the challenges has gone really well and it's been great to see so many pages shared in the chat group. (Please remember to pop your pages into the correct album so you can be included into the prize draw.)

Gypsy's Challenge:
This month our Cybercrop theme will be all about Journalling- I've already been thinking about my challenges for the crop and have a journalling challenge for my monthly challenge.
Your challenge is to either: make your journalling hidden- mine is slipped under the black and white paper on the left.
Or: use the same sentence starter for your journalling... I've used 'I love..." for my LO below, but you can use any starter that you want.
(You can do both if you want. :-) )

This page is made with a combination of the Fancy Pants - Happy Place and Simple Stories- Life in Colour lines.

Donna's Challenge:
For my challenge, I would like you to use some journaling strips to tell a little story behind the photo.  For my page I've used the computer to write out the journalling, then cut it into strips.

I've used Echo Parks For the Record papers, with Kaisercraft Script Words  and Mists.  Embellishments from Cocoa Vanilla, Fancy Pants.
