Birthday Cyber Crop
Welcome to our October Cyber Crop.
October 2008, I purchased
Mystical Scrapbooks. Over these past 10
years I've seen a lot of changes to our craft, trends come and go.... and then
come back again 😊
I seen people come and go, and I’m lucky enough to still
know some scrappers from when I started about 20 years ago!
I’ve seen kids grow up via photos and layouts, online friends
that I’ve never meet in real life that are still dear to me today.
Facebook has changed many things for us, we closed our on-line
forum several years ago now as people moved over to Facebook more and more, and
this year we moved our photo gallery over as well. Facebook being much easier for people to use
and comment on layouts.
Design Team members have made this journey possible for me, and I've been so lucky to have had so many great DT members over the years... My deep thanks to them all.
Mystical has been a wonderful journey for me, one that I hope to keep going for another 10 years.
Challenge 1 - Use 10 embellishments only
Paper, card-stock and multi mediums are not included...
Stencils and stamps are counted as 1 no matter how many time you use them.
BUT everything else is counted as single items... ie: 3 rhinestones are counted at 3 items.
Again I've used 2 paper ranges here, Cocoa Vanilla - Love Always and Fancy Pants - Trendsetter
The flair is from Just Add Flair, and chipboard sprayed with Kaisermist… doesn't show up in the photos, bit it has a gorgeous gimmer to it.
1 stencil, 1 flair and 8 bits of chipboard = 10 embellishments
Challenge 2 - Add a banner and a flourish
I've used 2 paper ranges here, Cocoa Vanilla - Love Always and Fancy Pants - Trendsetter
Green Tara flowers, including the Azalea range and my flourish is embossed chipboard.
Challenge 3 - Tic Tac Toe
(Supplies used: Pebbles Spring Fling Words, Kaiser Mist, Fancy Pants Happy Place Papers and Word Stickers.)
Don't forget: I'm also celebrating this month- it was my
birthday on the first and once again I'll be giving away a $20 prize
pack picked by me for you to one of the challenge participants this
month. (Drawn by a random pick from all the entries in the monthly and
cybercrop challenges).
We will be giving away 1 shopping voucher valued at $20.00, and each entry receives 1 ticket into the draw.....each challenge you do gives you a chance to win!
We will also have a surprise prize!! Our DT members will chose their favourite over-all layout and I will send that lucky person a surprise in the mail.
Due date Sunday, 28nd October - Midnight
Upload your challenge entry to the Galleries on our Mystical Scrapbooks Facebook Chat Page.

September Cybercrop
Do you remember finding a box of photos at your grandparents or parents home, only to wonder who everyone is or when it the photo was taken?
I do, and I remember asking my Mum about the photos, only to get answers like...
" I think that is uncle ------ "
This month we are thinking about Journalling. For a lot of us, journalling seems to be one of the most difficult parts of scrapbooking, We spend ages thinking of designs and colour combinations and how to use our many wonderful embellishments, but journalling is one of the most important details often forgotten or crammed in at the end.
We have 3 challenges for you using different types of journalling techniques, let's get back into the habit of adding some extra details on our pages :)

Challenge 1 - Sketch with Journal Tags
For my page I've used Basic Grey Serenade papers, flowers from Green Tara, and my title is from our new range of chipboard from 2Crafty.
Challenge 2: Journalling first
For this challenge I want you to write the journalling first- so you can make it a feature of your page rather than an add-on that you slip in there. This is a great chance to tell a longer story (though you don't have to make it as big as mine).
Challenge 3: Document a person
Make a page about a person, rather than an event or location.
This page describes my niece at 2 years old. I talks about what she currently loves, where she spends her days, there are some word to describe her character, and some important facts like that she still has an afternoon nap and enjoys helping with the cooking.
Supplies used: Fancy Pants Happy Place, Simple Stories Life in Colour, Amy Tangerine Foam Thickers, Basic Grey Alpha, Ribbon, Jillibean Word stickers.
Due date Sunday, 30th Sept. Upload in to the correct photo album by midnight to the in the draw.
You can find our Facebook gallery and our chat page here - Chat
We have a private chat page over on Facebook, if you new to our challenges just send me a email with your name and I can send you an invite to our little group.

September Monthly Challenges
Welcome to our Monthly Challenges for September!
The trial of Facebook albums for the challenges has gone really well and it's been great to see so many pages shared in the chat group. (Please remember to pop your pages into the correct album so you can be included into the prize draw.)
Gypsy's Challenge:
This month our Cybercrop theme will be all about Journalling- I've already been thinking about my challenges for the crop and have a journalling challenge for my monthly challenge.Your challenge is to either: make your journalling hidden- mine is slipped under the black and white paper on the left.
Or: use the same sentence starter for your journalling... I've used 'I love..." for my LO below, but you can use any starter that you want.
(You can do both if you want. :-) )
This page is made with a combination of the Fancy Pants - Happy Place and Simple Stories- Life in Colour lines.
Donna's Challenge:
For my challenge, I would like you to use some journaling strips to tell a little story behind the photo. For my page I've used the computer to write out the journalling, then cut it into strips.
I've used Echo Parks For the Record papers, with Kaisercraft Script Words and Mists. Embellishments from Cocoa Vanilla, Fancy Pants.
Challenge Rules· Please upload your entries to our Inlinkz link up, or to the gallery in our Private Facebook Chat Group by 11.55pm 31st August 2018 to be eligible for the prize. Prize is by random draw.
· International entries are welcome, however due to international postage cost a Creative Design Spot will be offered along with a little surprise in the post.
Australia residents, this month’s prize is an Journalling Note Set. You can choose from Take Note from Basic Grey or Fancy Pants Dancing Girl.
Have fun and please share with your scrappy friends!

August Kit Layout Shares
I've really enjoyed working with the Kaisercraft Memory Lane Line this month. This line teams up really well with the Cork Thickers, Crate Paper Fourteen and the Kaisercraft Open Road Line as well. If you're looking to team it up with the Nuvo Drops then the Neptune Turquoise and Copper Penny are a great match.
Cocoa Vanilla Boys Rule Clear Stickers.
Happy Scrapping. :-)
