October Monthly Challenges

Celebrate!
October is Mystical's birthday month... I brought Mystical Scrapbooks 11 years ago!  Doesn't seem like it, I remember when the stock started to arrive from the previous owner,  (who had run Mystical for about a year I believe)
I still get excited when new stock arrives!

Challenge 1: Alter an embellishment on a page about a celebration/special occasion.

I have sprayed these white Prima flowers with Kaisermist and inked some wooden hearts to tie in with the colours on the cake and my patterned paper.

Challenge 2: Scrap lift my page and add a heart!

Like a sketch, but it's my finished page... Take inspiration from it, or a direct lift,  and add a heart or two.

Challenge Rules
Please upload your entries to our Inlinkz link up, or to the album in our Private Facebook Chat Group by 11.55pm 30th September 2019 to be eligible for the prize.

Gallery Pick: Cheryl Ann

Each month on our Facebook chat, we host the albums for the monthly and Cybercrop challenges. There is such a great wealth of inspiration in those albums I wanted to pick some scrapbookers pages to share each week.

This week's pick is Cheryl Ann. She has taken the challenges from the July Cyber Crop and really made them her own. I am loving the backgrounds on that first page and the lovely muted boyish colour pallette. The second page is a great design- I love the monochromatic colour pallette and all the different textures on her page. Thanks for playing along with our challenges Cheryl.

Lego Marvel

Looking for the right place to put your embellishments?

When in doubt, try to go for a visual triangle that encompasses/touches on the key aspects of your page: Picture(s), title, and journaling. Your eyes often look unconsciously for this design tool to give your brain a sense of completion.
If your page isn't 'feeling' right when you look at it- see if a visual triangle can be employed to help balance it out.
You can have more than one triangle on a page.
You can form the triangle with matching elements, e.g. Cogs, buttons, flowers. With matching colours, with photos, or clusters, shapes, e.g. circles of patterned paper, or even text.

Take a look at some of your favourite layouts sometime and see if you can find the triangles.
