July Cyber- Crop ~ Christmas in July

Welcome to our July CC!

This month we're encouraging you to scrap some of your Christmas Memories and tie them into the story of your Christmases now. We've listed six prompts below to get you thinking. And a free choice option because we'd love to see your ideas on Christmas stories to tell.

Challenge 1 - You choose!

1. Seeing Santa ~ Do you remember visiting Santa as a child? Or maybe he always came to a parents work Christmas Function (the one my kids saw came by helicopter in NZ) Did you go to the same place each year? Was there anything special about the place? Did you get a photo or just say hello? Perhaps you didn't like sitting with Santa? What are your memories of the guy in the red suit?

2. Christmas Deliciousness ~ Turkey or Ham? Triffle or Pav? Auntie Ann's Key Lime Pie or Prawns on the BBQ. What is a food or food that you remember from your childhood Christmas? Do you have that now? What's the same or different about your Christmas eating rituals now you are an adult?

3. Under Wraps - Presents! Did you or do you have any gift giving rituals or traditions? We always buy a Christmas book each year. The kids have stockings and many of the gifts are the same each year. What about you do you have traditions around gifts? Or do you remember a special gift that you wanted and got or maybe didn't get? Do you know where your mum hid the presents? Were you a sneaky peeker or did you like the surprise?

4. It's what we do in December ~ Is there a thing you did each year in holiday season? Or a place you went? Maybe you made and decorated ginger bread houses, or went to a special church service, or Christmas play. What activities do you recall from Christmas past? What do you do now- any  traditions for Christmas present?

Not technically a tradition, yet, the past couple of years we've decorated Gingerbread in the lead-up to Christmas. The kits that you can buy at Ikea have made it so easy! I had seven photos for this LO so I've gone with a double page spread- my go to design is the horizontal block.

Supplies used: Bazzill Cardstock: White, Basic Grey Lemonade: papers: Honey Bee, Strawberry Patch, Element Stickers, and Rubons- Canary Green. KI Memories Sheer Delights Greenery, Washi Tape: Hambly Set 4, Glitter Thickers, Kaiser Rhinestones: Mint Green, tag from: Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Cut Outs, and Ribbon- Herringbone Lime.

5. Early Start ~ What happened on Christmas morning in your house? Were you up before the sun? Opening presents first thing or did you have the torture of waiting till later in the day? Was there a stocking on the end of your bed or somewhere else? What were your Christmas morning rituals and what are they now?

6. The Story behind that ~ Is there an object or objects related to your childhood Christmas with a story of their own? Maybe a decoration made by you as a child or brought somewhere special or by someone special? Some china or linen that only came out a Christmas? Do you have any objects now that have a special meaning behind them?

7. Your Christmas Story ~ This one is a freebie, tell a Christmas story that doesn't come into the categories above- make sure to share it because it might remind us of a story we want to tell.

Challenge 2 - Use Ribbon

My challenge is to use ribbon on your page....it's doesn't have to be a Christmas layout, if you have already scrapped your Christmas!!

Here a peek is my take... Sadly due this never ending head-cold my layout is still waiting on a title, and a proper photo I've been too sick to venture out this week!!  But will pop it up shortly :)

Challenge 3 - Sketch

Have fun with this sketch....again Christmas photos would be great, but is not a requirement :)

You have a full week plus, to scrap these challenges, upload them to our gallery and be in the winning for a store voucher or a pack of lovely goodies for being the DT pick.

Due date Sunday 31st July - Midnight

And don't forget to stop by our Facebook chat group over the weekend - there just may be a game or two happening with the odd prize being thrown your way ;)

Happy scrapping !!
