DT Share: 2 Years

This was one of my pages for our March Monochrome plus CyberCrop. I wanted to tell you a little about how I achieved this effect on my page.

1. I applied a moderate misting of the Lime green KaiserMist in a vertical column down the centre of my white cardstock and left it to dry.
2. Using a Crafters workshop 6x6 Template (Mask) I applied Transparent Texture paste into the stars spreading it carefully and evenly with a scrap of heavy card.
3. When the texture paste was dry I misted the strip again with the KaiserMist Apple and carefully dabbed the ink off my Texture paste stars with a paper towel- allowing the lime green to be visible.
4. When the second lot of mist was dry I completed my page as per usual.

I like the tone on tone look of these two greens but you could also use contrasting or complimentary colours to great effect.

Supplies used: Bazzill Cardstock White, KaiserMists: Lime Green and Apple, Ranger Texture Paste Transparent Matte. Crafters Workshop 6x6 Template, Jillibean Soup Banners and Hexies, Simple Stories Life in Colour Ephemera, and We R Memory Keepers Washi Tape. (stickers and chipboard from my personal supplies).

DT Share: Thanks Lee-anne

I've used one 6x4 photo here with two 3x4's either side. I use photoshop to put to 3x4's on a 6x4 canvas for printing but with the popularity of Project Life style scrapbooking there are a lot of apps around which will allow you to easily to the same. If you're already using one perhaps you could share it in the comments and let us know if it is for Apple, Android or both?

The base of this page is Cocoa Vanilla ~ Wild at Heart Artisan- I haven't done a thing to alter it... that beautiful water colour effect and the little crosses are part of the design. It's so lovely I plan on getting a few more sheets for my personal stash.

Supplies used: Cocoa Vanilla: Wild at Heart: Papers: Artisan, Fussy Cuts, and Mariposa. Embellishments: Vellum Sheet, Die Cut Ephemera, Accessory Sticker Sheet, And Jillibean Soup: Chit Chat Chowder: Word Labels, and Grandma's Lima Bean: Cardstock Stickers and Alpha.

Gallery Pick

Week Three of the Mystical Scrapbooks Competition was all about colour and flowers- I think Sharnook nailed it!

It's so lovely to see suck a fun and colourful LO in our gallery and I love the handmade hearts and flowers. This page is beautifully designed as well... the placement of her elements and those sweet little gatherings is perfect!

Thanks for sharing your page in our gallery Sharnook!

DT Quick Share: So You!

The colours in this Bohemian paper from Cocoa Vanilla ~ Wild at Heart worked perfectly with those in my oldest son's favourite shirt... Yes he's a Kanye West fan... he didn't get his music taste from me!
This page is super simple and single cardstock block inked around the edges makes an home for all my elements: Photo, title, journalling and embellishments. I've used three small gatherings of embellishments in a visual triangle to pull my page together and enclose the main feature: the photos.

Supplies used: Cocoa Vanilla ~ Wild at Heart: Bohemian Paper, Die cut Ephemera, Accessory Sticker Sheet, Enamel Dots, Bazzill Basics Cardstock White, VersaColour Ink: Charcoal, Thickers Dear Lizzy Saturday Petals.

April Challenges

Hello and welcome to our April Challenges...

We have decided to mix things up a bit and post both challenges together on the 1st of each month, then during with month we will give you reminders and tips on how we created our pages.

Judging is still done the same, all entries get there name in a hat, and a name is drawn by random.
International entries are welcome, however due to international postage cost a Creative Design Spot will be offered should the winner be from outside Australia along with a little surprise in the post.

Challenge 1: Frames

Hey, it's Gypsy here with our first challenge for April.
Lately I have been working with the newest Cocoa Vanilla line in the store Wild at Heart. This line includes a great pack with 18 different frames in 3 different sizes. I had a great time seeing what I was able to do with them across a few different pages. I love the way they emphasise the photos and can provide a perfect home for embellishments and details.

So the first challenge for April is to use at least one frame on your page as a feature of your design. Share your results in the gallery by April 30 so we can all be inspired and you can have a chance to win one of our prizes this month.

Challenge 2:  1-2 4-5 Challenge

Hello Donna here and I have a requirement challenge for you;
You must use:
  • 1 - peice of cardstock
  • 2 - bits of string, ribbon or jute
  • 4 - pattern papers
  • 5 - bits of bling OR 5 flowers
You can add more.... but you must have these item listed!

For this challenge I've used Jilliebean Soup - Chit Chat Chowder paper, such a fun range to play with... My words wood veneer shapes are from Cocoa Vanilla Love Always range, and my newest favourite KaiserMist spray Coffee and flowers are from the Green Tara Fantasy Blooms range
