Tip of the Week

Hi all

Robyn here with this little tip...

Do you use sequins or little dots even glass beads etc. How do you store them?
Well here's a tip, a friend of mine stores hers in old spice rack jars that she had. Great Idea!!

Gallery pick for the week Rachel H

I seriously think my heart might have stopped and melted a little when I saw this page of Rachel's in the April CC gallery for the rainbow challenge. Sweet is 100% the word for it. I love, love, love the soft pastel rainbow, black and white photo, and white space combination. The pink w in the title is a great disruption that adds interest. The embellishing is so simple it's perfect!

Rachel H- thanks for sharing this beauty with us!

There were so many great layouts this month that I had an issue choosing just one so I chose 5.
Each one has a very different story to tell and I loved every one of them.

Tip of the Week

Hi all

Robyn here with this little tip...

I have found that when I am getting things organised, for a layout or any other project I may be doing with paper, that using a flat type of ceramic bowl to keep all my little bits and ephemera in whilst I am working on my project is very handy.

Not only does it keep my desk tidier but also keeps everything with in reach and I dont have to go searching thru a mess to find that one little sequin.

Gallery pick for the week ~ Sharon B

Back in February, we had our Back to School Challenges and I asked people to be inspired by a Spotlight Back to School Junk Mail Catalogue.

Sharon B took the challenge and really hit it out of the park. I love that she's used the actual catalogue as part of her page telling the story of her daughter's Santa outfit from the store. The blue and red colourscheme is fabulous. As is Debra's background. The stitching, journalling and minimal embellishing add the perfect finishing touches.

Great work Sharon! Thanks for sharing your talent with us.

Tip of the week: Got ink?

One of the smartest decisions I ever made was cutting out a bunch of stickers in little slivers. :-) I brought a packet of credit card-sized white adhesive labels at a discount store. Cut the stickers down to the size of the side of my Tim Holtz Distress Inks and then swiped them with ink. I did 4 strips per pad but you could just do one and make sure it's always facing out. I let them dry first and then wrote the name of the colour on the strip and then stuck them on... it take a little bit of time but saves heaps of time in the long run.

While you're at it grab the Distress Ink Printable Colour Chart from Ranger and stamp each colour you have on there too as a handy reference sheet.

Here's mine: I love to pull it out when I have to stamp on a layout and want to find the closest colour for my scheme.

April Challenges

Hello crafty friends...

Well, hasn't life has thrown us a bit of a curve-ball lately. With life being rather difficult at the moment, let us leave our worries for a while, retreat to our craft rooms or areas and enjoy some new challenges.

Our DT member Gypsy is still away looking after her grandmother so Robyn and I have this month's challenges for you.

Challenge 1 - Sketch

And here's my take...

I've used  Cocoa Vanilla Legendary and Boys Rule papers die-cuts on black card Currawong, along with some glitter card stars, a doily and some mesh from my stash.
I've not added a title on this pages, as it will be a part of a double page layout.
Have fun! Donna

Challenge 2 - Tic- Tac - Toe with an Easter Twist

Hi to all our crafty friends, Robyn here with challenge 2. I hope you have lots of fun and enjoy doing this Tic Tac Toe challenge.

And this is my take on the Challenge...

I have put Lace around my Black and White Photos which I think has worked really well.
Then I have used "Native Breeze" by Kaisercraft for my fussy cutting. FUN! FUN! FUN!
And the border and background papers I used were from "What A Wonderful Day" by Fancy Pants
and then embellished with Nuvo Drops
