Last month I was working with one of the newest lines in the store Cocoa Vanilla - Happiness. I love the upbeat, blissfully happy feel of the patterns and designs. I think this is also a great range for card makers. Happy scrapping!

June Mixed Media Monthly Challenges
Welcome to our June challenges :)
Mixed media is fun, and it's an amazing way to create beautiful and interesting layouts by combining different techniques and mediums.
Challenge 1 - Sketch Plus Paint
Challenge 2: Ink through a mask or stencil
I've used Tim Holtz Distress Inks to make a inked background on my page and then inked in darker tones through Crafter's Workshop Templates. The finishing touches are washi tape, Nuvo Drops, and Gold Thickers for my title.
Challenge Rules
· Please upload your entries to our Inlinkz link up, or to the album in our Private Facebook Chat Group by 11.55pm 30th June 2019 to be eligible for the prize.
The prize is by random draw.
· International entries are welcome, however, due to international postage cost, a Creative Design Spot will be offered along with a little surprise in the post.
Australia residents, this month’s prize is a Scrap Kit. Valued at over $20.00
Have fun and please share with your scrappy friends!

Cocoa Vanilla ~ Happiness DT Share Part 1
Hey all,
This month I have been working with one of the newest lines in the store Cocoa Vanilla - Happiness. This line feels quite girly- but I have definitely done some boys pages and I think it would be great for party pages, fun times, garden pages, kids, family, friends and romance. Here's the first bunch of pages I have to share. More next week. Happy scrapping!

May Cyber Crop
We are all about Heritage Style Scrapbooking this month.
Typically heritage style is more the darker and sepia colours, anything vintage or distressed and working with black & white photos.
But really, all scrapbooking is about recording our heritage- some of it more recent than others. If you want to tell your stories from more recent times, then that's also fine for these challenges.
Challenge 1 - Sketch
I've continued one with our day at Yarloop, Time Machine papers, Green Tara flowers, Cocoa Vanilla alphas and some die-cuts.
Challenge 2 - Scrap a Black and White Photo
Challenge 3 - Requirement challenge, add your own hand made flowers
For my example, continued with my May challenge photos, and made a double layout. I have die-cut petals to make my flowers.
Due date Sunday, 26th May- Midnight
Upload your challenge entry to the Galleries on our Mystical Scrapbooks Facebook Chat Page.
The chat is private and if you haven't yet joined us we'd love to have you. If you have any trouble joining please email to me, Donna, with your name and or a link to your Facebook profile and I will send you an invite.

May Monthly Challenges
Now that our Rainbow Competition is almost over it's time to bring back the monthly challenges. This month we're looking at Heritage Scrapbooking. Traditionally Heritage Scrapbooking is about working with older stories and photos from generations past. But really all scrapbooking is about recording our heritage- some of it more recent than others. If you want to tell your stories from more recent times, then that's also fine for these challenges.
We're looking forward to seeing your take on the challenges.
Donna's Challenge - Add your own handwriting.
When I think Heritage style, I always remember the notes that I would find in mum's old photo albums, whether it is a name or date scribbled on the back of a photo, or a little slip of paper with some info on it tucked in amongst the photos. These days we scrapbook so our kids/family will have a record of who, what and where, little snapshots of our everyday lives as well as the big moments, but sometimes we forget to journal as often as we should! And if you are like me, and don't have nice writing, you might, like me, skip it altogether. We need to remember when we are gone, and our kids are looking at the albums we have left behind for them, they are not going to care.... they will just be happy to say, "that's Mums writing"
Here's my example. Kaisercraft Time Machine papers are just perfect for this page.
Gypsy's Challenge
My Challenge is a Scraplift - I picked this page by Renee Aslette from the Kaisercraft blog to scraplift.
I was given this photo of my Nana and her Mum and Dad when I was home in New Zealand recently. It's the only photo I have of my great grandparents.
I've used: Basic Grey Serenade: Chemise and Half Penny and Kaisercraft Christmas Edition: Rejoice and Yule. Kaisercraft Pearls: Latte.

Voting Time - Follow the Rainbow Competition
Hello lovely scrappy friends...
Our 2019 competition has come to the end and now it's time for voting.
Due to school holidays (and hubby's holiday), I've decided to extend the voting time by a few days as I didn't get this posted last weekend as planned!
Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to all the ladies that joined in, and say how much we loved welcoming new scrappy friends to our little group 💖
Our Facebook gallery looks amazing, well done to you all. I found playing with colours so much fun, and I know some of you struggled with scrapping with some of the rainbow colours, but that's the wonderful thing about this craft, when you push yourself to try things you don't normally do, you learn and grow, and hopefully discover something new to love.
I've learnt that I adore Indigo! How beautiful is this colour!! It's perfect with white and gold, and as I scrap mostly boys pages, sometimes I find the colours a bit limited, so I'm super happy to add another 'go to colour' to my list.
If you are an active member and/or joined in with our competition, even if you didn't get to finish, I would like to invite you to vote for your favourite pages.
1 vote per challenge, but please don't vote for yourself. Have a read of the guidelines below and get your votes to me but Sunday 5th May. Please send your votes via the 'send message' button on the Mystical Scrapbooks Facebook page.
At the end of the competition, active members of our chat page can choose to vote, using a 3 2 1 points system for each challenge.
3 points for your favourite
2 for second
1 for 3rd
1 vote per member for each challenge. You can't vote for yourself.

April Cyber Crop: Easter Treats
Welcome to our April Cyber Crop, we are letting the yummy Easter season inspire us this month.
Please note, you do not have to scrap Easter photos, just let it inspire you!
Challenge 1: Sketch
I've used the Simple Stories Hello Summer for my page... not that these photos were taken in summer, but it was spring and I love the colours!
2 of my photos have been added digitally as I need to reprint them a different size for this layout....
Challenge 2: EASTER Requirements
Make a layout that is Easter themed and/OR use three or more of the following requirements on your page:
Enamel or Nuvo drops
Animal
Stripes
Title
Ebony (Black)
Ribbon
My Easter page has Enamel (Nuvo) dots, a rabbit, striped paper, a title and matt in ebony black, and a little green stripe of ribbon! 😊
Supplies used: Cardstock: Black, White. Patterned Paper: Stripes. Small Alpha, Green Ribbon, White Crochet Trim, Nuvo Pink, Yellow, Blue. (Flair and Large Alpha from my stash.) If you like that Diecut heart paper in the background (it comes in other colours and shapes) ask Donna to pop it back in the store... I bet she'll cut you a deal. :-)
You don't have to make an Easter page or even one with Candy or treats- but you do need to find some inspiration here... I can see: Ovals, stripes, stitching, flowers, faces, buttons, bright colours, buttons, bunnies and bows... what can you see?
I was inspired by the pastels I saw coming up on the board and that crazy mess of delicious looking Easter Chocolate Bark on the right. This layout is great for stash busting a lot of little bits and pieces.
Supplies used: Cardstock: White. Patterned Paper: Pink, Blue, Purple, Hearts. Nuvo Drops Pink, Blue, Sweet Lilac. Flair. Woodies. Bits and pieces pulled from Buttons, Wild Ephemera, Boho Bits, Dreamy Pad.
