 Hi Everyone, Louise here....

For the September challenge, I'd like to see you create something with a "Vintage" theme - which should include paints/inks.

Here is my vintage inspiration

"Father"

See the video below.

This layout features:

I love to use products in different ways then they are intended so I've used the Nuvo drops like a paste and applied them through a stencil.

As the liquid was thinner than normal paste, I washed the stencil between applications.
It dries with a lovely matte finish and almost looks like it's embossed on the background.

Thanks for visiting.
Happy scrapping.

Julie's August Blog Post

 Good morning

Today I am sharing with you a shaker flower embellishment that I have made.

This is not one of my better makes but I got there in the end.

I am definitely going to try this again with some different shapes, there are endless possibilities. You can use dies for this as well. I suggest you choose a symmetric shape to make your job a lot easier. I was thinking Christmas baubles, hearts, stars etc.

You can watch the video here and see all of the things I learned during the creation of these flowers.

I cut four of the flowers using my Scan N Cut and a solid flower to use for the back of my shaker. The four layers provide the depth for the mini prills to fit into and move around. The dividing walls were way too thin to try and use foam tape.

BIG TIP:- Use double sided sticker sheets on the back of your cardstock before you cut your item out.

I did not use the sticky sheet on the back of my cardstock and the glue made a huge mess. I could have been a little more careful and chosen a symmetric shape and the glue would have been fine, but I ended up getting glue all over my acetate and even though it dries clear I did not like the look of it when it tried and I had to start all over again. Even on the second attempt I did not think to use the sticker sheet.

I have used Hot Pink Mini Prills in my shaker.

I am definitely not that happy with these flowers and may not use them but it was definitely a learning experience and I had a bit of fun with it.

Anyway check out the video and try it out. If you come up with a cleaner way of doing it I would love it if you would share your process with me.

Happy scrapping

Beautiful Mulberry Flowers...

 I love these flowers!

We received our order the other day and I've been flat our packing and photographing them and finally, they are now are all ready to go...

The very popular Magnolia are now back in stock...

As are the gorgeous little sweetheart blooms...

We have added these very cute cotton stem flowers to our range...

I also took the time to package up mixed bags of 30 assorted flowers.,

I've added 10 packs to what we have, however, there is generally only 1 of each pack available.  Here are just 2 examples.   A fantastic buy at $10 each.

Donna's Blog Post

Hello crafty friends...

My turn to share today, and I thought I would show you how I use self-adhesive EVA 3D foam.

It's so quick and easy to use,  it's all I use now.  I don't waste any of it, the smallest cut-off bits can be popped under petals or butterfly wings to help them stay popped up once we put the page in our albums.

It's a great way to add some depth and interest to your pages.  I've started off by cutting the foam and cardstocks to size.  The foam is self-adhesive on one side and I use Tiger Grip glue to attach the other.  Tiger Grip is perfect for this as it gives you a moment to 'wiggle' and make sure everything is straight.

This glitter card is amazing, it' smooth to the touch and will not come off on your fingers... I love a bit of glitter!!

August Challenges

Welcome to our August challenges.. this month we are all about textiles!  I love adding textiles to a page, whether it's material bits, ribbon, jute or cotton threads they all add interest and depth to your work.

Challenge 1

Louise here to share my inspiration for August "Cool Dude"

So my challenge to you is to use two colours and any form of textile.
My textile element is the Black burlap ribbon

I've used the following products:

Just for fun, I've also created a process video which I hope you enjoy:

Have Fun and happy scrapping.

Challenge 2

Hi Julie here with my challenge for August.

My challenge for you is to use a handmade textile embellishment on your layout. It can be any embellishment so long as it is hand made and made from textiles, ie flowers, banners, stars, hearts etc made from fabric, wool, lace, felt etc

Last month I shared a video showing how to make two styles of fabric flowers, you might find that helpful in the creation of your embellishment.

I have used three of the flowers I made in that video on this layout.

The flower cluster also includes some paper flowers in a pale green

I have used modelling paste through a stencil and then applied Mustard Seed Distress Ink through a different stencil to the white cardstock base.

An assortment of stamps were also added to the background using Broken China Distress Ink and StazOn Jet Black Ink.

You can see the video showing how this layout came together here.

You can see the flower making video here.

I have used Effie & Vonnie papers from the Love & Grace paper collection by Colourblast.
I also added some burlap ribbon  and some white tassel ribbon to the right hand edge of my photo.

I hope you have fun making your embellishments.
Can't wait to see what you make
Julie
