If you are having issues getting a clear and complete image especially with the larger style background block stamps, then it's worthwhile investing in a firm foam pad. This dense foam has just enough 'give' that you can press the stamp into it across the whole stamp- but not get any messy edges and not miss the centre of your stamp or damage the surface you are stamping onto.
